  • you're making movies now? cooool!!!!

tfr (white move): i kinda imagined it being night. or maybe it's coz i read TFR first and not the way it should be?

and then, it's nice to see the house we played in as kids! it's been renovated though!!! talk about deja vu!!! lol!!!!

might i just add something about the apples? i counted five scenes with five bitten apples and one last one in hand to be dropped (5+1). but the last scene showing them on the ground has only 3+1 apples. is that normal? or deliberate? however, the continuity between scenes and hand movements was excellent, worthy of the finest!

and i really liked the bits where you did the close up of feet running up stairs. but the landings with and without painting+vase-of-flowers : how about interspersing them, alternating them. or leaving them out altogether to give an endlessly identical effect?

man of many talents, good job!

i think i'd like to see TFR at night.... i'll be back!

  • yeah TFR (1) should be at night.... but it was difficult to shoot so much night time - I was worried about light and so on. Glad you liked it though!

Yes you spotted it, there's fewer apples in the ground shot than there are before. What's more, they haven't been eaten either. Why, you might ask. Well, because I was going to have to eat them after dinner after I picked them off the ground, but also to add to the uncertain surrealism - do the apples disappear after being dropped only to reappear on the table, or are these not the same apples?

And you spotted the paintings and vase too! Originally I intended for different landings - the painting would disappear and then the vase, but then decided on keeping the painting and vase so that it would be clear that i keep starting over where I began. but as it becomes more frantic.... i decided "okay the landing/landscape changes marginally but not proportionally to the effort he expends".

watch the first one - TFR too. click the link or wait for my embedded whatsit.

  • the surrealist apples i can understand.

but the landings bother me. i'm not sure i can explain it. i mean, sometimes, the painting+vase are there, and some other times not. i think i prefered the landing without the props. also because there was a lot of clutter in the background that distracted me instead of focusing on the effort put into running up and around. or maybe the view was too large? like, what's all that stuff under the staircase or how did you guys renovate the house on the left side of the picture? i say that probably because i know the place and having not been there since forever, this sort of detail interests me! lol!!!!

i don't know. i did think also that when you disappeared around the corner of the second storey and came back to square one (ground level), the lapse of time when you came into the camera frame and when you stopped seemed too long. i know it's only a few seconds but it seemed just a little *too* long. not sure i'm explaining myself correctly....

then again, what do i know about critique-ing films?!

but was good! really liked it!

    ps: what's TFR? :D

  • well actually i did want it to be jarring - i could have shortened it but i wanted the unreality of the time, the elasticity or fragmented nature of a dream.

I'll think about the landing... continuity was also an issue since the painting is visible in the ground level shot...
